Home Move Box Ltd is a sister company of Citipost Ltd, a privately owned E Commerce, Mail processing and Distribution company. Home Move Box is committed to adhering to Citipost’s Environmental Policy as outlined below, as well as specific practices implemented by Home Move Box as part of its business operations.
At Home Move Box we distribute Home Mover Welcome Boxes to approx. 50,000 Home Movers each month. We recognise that our operations can influence the environment and we wish to minimise the potentially harmful effects of such activity wherever possible. We also recognise that good environmental management must be an integral and fundamental part of our corporate business strategy.
Our policy is to meet or exceed all environmental regulations, laws, and codes of practice. We are committed to the prevention of pollution and to minimising the impact of our operations on the environment; this environmental policy is the company’s statement of environmental goals which outline our commitment to continual environmental improvement.
To be successful, the environmental policy statement needs to be company- wide and therefore commitment is required from the whole workforce. The Head of Compliance has specific responsibility for the policy development, co-ordination, and evaluation of performance. Line managers have an important role to play in helping employees to understand and implement the relevant aspects of this policy in their day-to-day work through the regular communication of objectives, action plans and achievements.
Energy use
We will use environmentally safe and sustainable energy sources to meet our needs wherever it is feasible to do so. Specifically, we have introduced several electric vehicle charging points as well as the installation of solar panelling at our Head Office, Criterion Park, Belvedere.
Resources
We aim to improve our environmental performance by conserving energy, water, wood, paper, cardboard, and other resources, particularly those which are scarce or non-renewable, through efficient use and careful planning, while still providing a safe and comfortable working environment.
Recycling
We will promote recycling and the use of recycled and refurbished products and materials where such alternatives are economical and suitable, while reducing consumption of materials wherever possible.
As part of our Home Move Box ‘home mover welcome box’ production, we use recyclable materials and aqueous ink in the printing process. Aqueous ink, being water-based, is generally considered more environmentally friendly than solvent-based inks due to its lower toxicity and reduced volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions which minimise harmful emissions, and reduces reliance on non-renewable resources.
We also encourage our Home Movers to keep and use the welcome boxes to store documentation or use the welcome boxes in other innovative ways, through direct messaging printed on each box.
Suppliers
We will work with our suppliers to ensure that they recognise and reduce the environmental impact of their products and transportation through a quality purchasing policy.
Pollution
We will monitor relevant discharges and emissions in the air, land, and water to assess what action is necessary to reduce the pollution or risk of pollution.
Training
We include environmental issues in all company training programs and encourage the implementation by all company staff of sound environmental practices. In addition, the company will maintain levels of environmental awareness throughout its workforce.
Policy Review
The policy will be reviewed annually during a management review and if necessary, revised to reflect the latest developments.
